Why now ? A new law: The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), comes into force on May 25th2018 replacing the Data Protection Act. Its primary purpose is to ensure people retain control of their personal data and it is our responsibility to ensure we have your permission so we can keep in touch after the 25thMay 2018. We want to keep stay in touch with you.
What data do you hold ? We keep your name, email address and details of what projects you have been interested or involved in. This data is securely stored and not shared with any other organisation except with your permission. We take your data security seriously, storing it safely and securely.
Why me ? You have previously helped or been interested in one or more of the many projects undertaken by the Hovingham Action Group. These projects include:

What do you do with the data ? We will only use your data for the purpose it was given; to publicise and organise Action Group Projects efficiently, effectively and safely, we do everything to ensure this data is kept up-to-date and accurate. Your data is used safely and kept securely.
Can I change my mind ? You can do this at any time; by email and ask for your personal information to be removed or updated; you can also ask for a copy of the information we hold about you. It is up to you whether you want to be contacted and what projects you to part in.
What happens when I select either "YES” or "NO” on the invitation email ? An email will be created with the subject set to "YES - Please keep my details” or "NO - Please remove my details” respectively. All you then have to do is SEND the email to us. If you decide "NO” then we will remove your details. We need your permission to contact you in the future.
