LOCATION: Hovingham is located 8 miles from Helmsley and Malton, with the towns of Kirkymoorside 9 miles away and Pickering is 15 miles away. York is 18 miles away and Scarborough is 30 miles away.

BUSES: There are public service buses from Hovingham to Malton, 194 bus route operated by York and Country. From Helmsley there is the 128 bus route to Scarborough via Kirkbymoorside and Pickering, operated by Scarborough & District. Helmsley buses. From Malton there are local buses plus the Coastliner bus from Scarborough and Whitby via Malton to York and Leeds, operated by Transdev. Malton buses

RAIL: The local station is in Malton, which is served by Transpennine Express who operate a service between Scarborough, through Malton, to York, Leeds, Manchester and Liverpool. In York you can change to the East Coast Mainline, providing services from London through York to Newcastle, Edinburgh and Inverness. There are numerous operators who provide services from York and these include Northern Rail and Virgin East Coast Trains.

OTHER:Ryedale Community Transport (known as Ryecat) are a community transport organisation who can provide help with transport to medical appointments, social events, shopping, visits, work and education. Alternative volunteer transport is also available from the British Red Cross. The Yorkshire Ambulance Service provide a patient transport service.
