Hovingham Tennis Club has one hard court (one of the best in the area) situated behind the village hall on the far side of the bowling green and with fields on two sides.
The court is available seven days a week. Booking sheets are provided on the tennis court notice board.

There is a booking sheet for the court on the notice board at the entrance to the court. Members can invite guests for £1 up to a maximum of three times and pay at Hovingham Stores or the Worsley Arms Hotel.
There is the facility for visitors to the area and those who only play occasionally at £5 a session (Maximum two hours) and this includes senior and junior racquets and balls which can be obtained from the Worsley Arms Hotel. Payment can be made there or at Hovingham Stores.
Currently two mixed teams play in the Hovingham League against surrounding villages from May to August. Home matches are played at Terrington Prep School.
Coaching is sometimes offered to juniors and seniors with an LTA coach and details will be on the notice board.
The club is given an annual allocation for club members who are also members of British Tennis (free membership through the LTA). Tickets are balloted at the AGM to those in attendance.
This is an opportunity to keep fit and make new friends. You can play as a member or on an hourly basis: all ages are welcome.
